I don’t think I voted for a democrat since George McGovern ran for president. Back then I was young and stupid, plus I hated Richard Nixon.
Joe Arpaio is a friend of mine, yes. Setting aside all the controversy, I want you to know that at the beginning, I believe his intentions were good, but the constant need for media gratification just ballooned out of control. And the slimy ads he ran against his opponent Paul Penzone were a lie.
There comes a time in everyone’s career when it’s just time to move on, no one knows that better than I. 50 years in Broadcasting, 30 years at channel 10 in Phoenix, the last 20 years doing a morning show, and I came to the conclusion that it was time to stay home and spend some serious time with my wife of 47 years. I believe Joe Arpaio should do the same.
I know and love Paul Penzone. He is a friend of mine, I came to know him when he was running the Silent Witness Program for our valley. He was a successful Phoenix Police Sargent and very effective as an organizer and leader raising the Silent Witness Program to its highest level of success.
Paul Penzone is a good man. He is honest, and fair, and sincere. I have always known him to be a loving husband to his wife Veronica, and to his family. I know Paul, I know Veronica and I know this to be true.
Paul Penzone is a professional lawman who will bring stability, organization, and compassion to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s department. Believe me, he will not be an embarrassment to us, he will make us proud.
Ruth and I are voting for Paul Penzone for Sheriff.
